Obecnie klienci i interesariusze oczekują skutecznych, wydajnych, niedrogich, zrównoważonych, przejrzystych i odpornych usług wodnych (woda pitna, ścieki, wody opadowe, miejskie zarządzanie wodą). Komitet naukowy PI2025 wzywa do nadsyłania prac w dziedzinie benchmarkingu i oceny wydajności usług wodnych, nie tylko w tradycyjnych obszarach, takich jak jakość wody lub straty w dystrybucji, ale w szczególności w obszarach, w których przedsiębiorstwa użyteczności publicznej stają przed nowymi wyzwaniami.
